It's Saturday!!!!

Howdy Friends and Family!!

It's Saturday, and I am still in my pajamas, and creating up a storm!  Hooray!  What a great day I have had.  After a very hard week at work, it has been nice to do what makes me the happiest...hanging out at home in my scrapbook area with my honey and my kitties.  :o)

Today I created a layout with a picture of my dad when he was a boy  I used the Prima "Printery" Collection.  I thought it was a good collection for this vintage photo.

If I was to say what my signature style is, I would definitely veer towards layering and distressing. They are some of my most fun to work on.

Here is a close up of some of the layering and distressing

I also was able to do some stitching on this page.  My honey got me a new PINK sewing machine and had it all hooked up for me to play with.  I am going to give it a try on some cards today.  :o) What a sweet supportive husband I have!

Thanks for taking a peek.  Have a super rest of your weekend.  Hugs.  xo

Happy Saturday!!

Hello Friends and Family!

I think that Saturday is my most favorite day of the week.  I can stay home and hang out with my honey and my kitties.  I can wear jeans or jammies if I want.  Most of all, I can scrapbook and create as much as I want!  Hooray!!!!!

Thank you all for being so encouraging during the last challenge I participated in for Paper Smooches.  I did not get chosen to be the guest designer.  That is okay with me though.  I had fun creating with their digi stamps, learned something new, and got some more experience under my belt. Also, it got me back into my blog...one of my resolutions this year, so that makes it a win for me.  :o)

On to my next challenge.

My Cyber-friend, ( I have never met her in person) Heather Leopard, is a guest on My Scraps and More.  She has created the sketch for their monthly challenge.

Heather is super talented, and I admire her work very much.  You can imagine I was pretty excited to participate in this challenge.  Here is my take on the sketch.

This is a layout of my sister Karen, that passed away.  She always made everyone happy, and I am a better person because she was my sister.

Let me know what you think.  I love to get feedback.  :o)

Oh...by the way!  Heather said that My Scraps and More is having a big sale right now.  You might want to head over there and check it out.

Hugs....

Hi everyone!

It is almost time for bed, but I wanted to get another post in for the Paper Smooches Challenge.

This is a layout from my honey's birthday back in 2013.  We are kind of a silly couple.  :o)

Good night!  I will have some more tomorrow.  :o)  Hugs

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend.  I had an awesome weekend, just perfect in fact!  I had time to get all of my chores done, plus work on my crafty goodness, and spend time with my honey, and watch some Lifetime Movies for Women!!  :o)

But seriously now, here is another two cards for the Paper Smooches Challenge.  I had so much fun creating these.

Paper Smooches Challenge

Happy Sunday Friends and Family!

I hope everyone had a great week and a relaxing weekend.  I myself had a pretty good week.  I lost an additional 2 pounds, which brings me up to a 35 pound weight loss so far!  I am happy with my progress.  I also found some time to create, which always makes me happy.  :o)
This is a card I created for a challenge for Paper Smooches...love the name....Smooches!!
They have wonderfully fun and cute stamps and dies.  For this challenge I used their "digi stamps". This is the first time I have tried digi stamps and found it to be fun and easy.

Let me know what you think, okay?
I think I am going to try to create something more for this challenge.  So with that said, I had better get going.
Have a happy week, and I will chat with you soon.
Hugs...

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year friends and family!!!

Here I am back to telling you all that I am going to try and do a better job at keeping up on my blog.  Well this year WILL be different and I will tell you why.
I love my hobby of scrapbooking.  I truly love it.  It gives me so much happiness to create something new.  I also love everything that goes along with the hobby.  I love all the products, I love the designers, I love the process of coming up with ideas and making an idea come to life.  I want to be involved in every aspect of this hobby, and that includes being on a design team and someday going to CHA.
I know these are high goals to have.  But I like what Louisa May Alcott, author of one of my favorite books, "Little Women", has to say about goals.  “Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.” So that is exactly what I am going to do.
I am going to work hard because anything wonderful is worth working for.  I could succeed, but worse case scenario is that I can have fun, make memories, and see where this will lead.
My first creation this year  is a Tim Holtz tag.  Tim always has his 12 tags of whatever year it happens to be.  So I accepted the January 2015 challenge and created a tag.  This particular tag I have made for someone who means a great deal to me.  I made my tag into a birthday tag for someone who really gave me my start in my intense love of scrapbooking.  My friend Merri Joy bought a scrapbook store back in 2004.  It was my great joy and pleasure to be her manager for two of the happiest years of work, (if you could call it that) in my life.  I will always remember those days fondly, and treasure all the fun and friends I made in my heart.

So here is to a happy and healthy new year to you all, and to many more creations for the year.  :o)
