Hi to all my friends and family!

Well I had soooo much fun cropping on Friday night, that I could not control myself. I just HAD to make some more cards!
I did have a lot of fun, and it made me feel like I am ready for Monday and a new week.

This card is made using some paper from SEI's "Chickadee" line.

I also used SEI's "Chickadee" line on this card. I love SEI paper! But then again....I LOVE PAPER!!!

Speaking of loving paper, the next two cards are made with some more paper I love. The company is Echo Park, a newer company than SEI, but they really have some cute stuff. It is their "Country Drive" line. You can get some at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique if you like it.

Hello again, and HAPPY SATURDAY!!!!

I ALWAYS feel more chipper after a fun time at the scrapbook store. It is so much fun to just relax, create, and converse with fellow scrappers!
We had an all around great evening. It is fun to see what others are working on. Everyone has different styles and projects that they are completing. Did I say COMPLETING??? You bet I did!!! These ladies actually complete what they start out to create. It is an amazing concept to me, one in which I hope to eventually do myself.
Good food, and good times.
So, I am sure you would like to see what I worked on last night. I am still working on my Wicked photos, from my trip to New York City, so hopefully you won't get tired of the subject matter. I again used "The Magic of OZ" paper by Graphic 45. I completed a layout and 2 cards. I will try and get at least a couple of more new cards completed using another line, just so you have some variety.
I would love to stay and create all day, but responsibility calls.

Hi There!!
I hope everyone had a nice weekend and that you are getting ready for a new week ahead.
I had a fun Saturday night at the crop. As promised, I am posting what I made while I was there. Tonight, I will post what I made, and my next blog, I will talk a little about the new paper that I saw last night while I was there.
Last night I went to the crop by myself. I was determined and excited to get something done. So I decided to use my new paper made by Graphic 45, called The Magic of OZ. It is a Wizard of Oz themed paper...after the old Wonderful Wizard of Oz book, not the movie. It is cute, and very fun paper.
I started out by making two cards. I am pretty happy with how they turned out. They are both the same, except I used a little different rub-on on one, so I am only going to show you one of the cards.

I was so happy and inspired after I finished the cards, I decided to do a layout using the same paper. My son flew us back to New York City back in 2008, and we got to see "Wicked", a Broadway musical. It was fabulous, and I knew this paper would be perfect for those pictures, since the musical is based on OZ.
Here is the layout. I plan on doing more layouts for this event, since I have more paper, and more pictures. I will share them with you as I complete them.

Scrapbooking

Hi there!

I am going to share a couple of pictures of my scrapbook area. I will share more of them also later, but for now we will start with these.

Here is a picture of my scrapbook table. You can use your imagination....I got this desk for free from a doctor that was retiring. Then my sweet husband painted it my favorite color...pink....and I added some chipboard letters that I decorated and there you go...a very special place to crop!

A lot of my wonderful supplies and tools are from my Scrapbook Avenue days.

Here I am in my scrapbook room, VERY happy! And you know....that is what I really wanted to talk about today. The joy and happiness that scrapbooking is. The joy of creating, and the happiness it not only brings you with your projects, but to others who receive cards or see their pictures on your scrapbook pages.

Last Week's Crop

Hi there!

I promised to show you the latest wedding pages completed for Rita's wedding scrapbook. So here they are!

Now remember....these pictures are from back in the 1970"s!!!!

Anyway, we had a great time making them. I want to remind all of you that Paradise Scrapbook Boutique is having another crop NEXT Saturday, August 27th. It is so much fun, and you get to see new paper too! I will take pictures of the new arrivals next week.

Card

I decided to make a card last night. It has been a while since I actually made something, and I was feeling inspired, so I stayed up to create.
I hope you like this, it was great fun to make.

That is the front and inside of the card. I used Bo Bunny Double Dot paper. It was new to me, but not new to scrapbooking. Double dot is a very nice paper, especially for cards. It is a double sided paper....one side with dots, and solid on the opposite side. The colors are softly muted, and there are many to choose from. This paper has a soft texture, different from regular cardstock. You can find this paper at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique. They have some nice fall colors in there right now.
I used the Bo Bunny Double Dot for the base of the card, and cut out a standard
8 1/2 by 5 1/2 piece of paper. I then scored and folded it in the middle. I cut out
a 1 1/2 inch by 5 1/4 inch of some dotted K & Co. paper and attached it just a hair from the bottom of the card. Then I attached a piece of ribbon 5 1/2 inches long, right on top of the K & Co. strip. Above that to the right, I attached some felt flowers, with extra big brads in the center. I punched out six tiny flowers from the K and Co. paper, added some bling to the center of them and glued three to the front and three to the inside of the card. I used a "Thank's" rub-on to complete the card. You could also use a stamp if you like....I just prefer a nice rub-on.

Hi Everybody!
I am sorry it has been a while since I have written, but I had a busy week with work and life in general. I will try to be better next week.
I attended another crop last night at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique. My friend Rita and I had an excellent time, and we got another layout done for her wedding album.
Rita has a lot of embellishments, which she loves to bring to crops, so she came up with a way to bring a bunch with her and still stay organized.

She has them all rubber banded by type, (yes she has that many), and carried them in one of those square container totes that you can get at Michael's.

Here is how some cute Prima Embellishments look banded up.

Speaking of Love.....oh my gosh, the store got in some of the new My Mind's Eye Lost and Found 2. The cutest ever!!!

All of you who know me, know how much I love pink. This is the cutest paper ever!!!!
I will try and get over to the store next week and take some pictures of the displays.

Wedding Pages

Hi there!

My last blog had some pictures of the first two pages that my friend Rita and I did for her wedding album. So, I was thinking I needed to post a couple of pictures of the scrapbook I am working on right now. It is my daughter Melodie's wedding album. Now you might say, "that is so nice"! But my daughter got married six years ago! She has been very patient, and now she will be moving in the spring to attend Indiana University to receive her master's degree. So I thought I had better finish this album, so that she can take it with her.
This top page is a layout I did of her walking down the isle.
I would love to share with you what papers I used and what embellishments, etc, which I do plan to do on my pages in the future. Unfortunately, almost everything was purchased 6 years ago, and I doubt for the most part, you could find most of the paper. I do know in this upper layout, that I used Bazzill dotted swiss cardstock, and plan on using that in quite a few of the wedding layouts. A great deal of the supplies used in these wedding layouts were purchased from my favorite scrapbook store of all time, which is no longer in business, Scrapbook Avenue. I had the pleasure and good fortune to work there for two wonderful years. My friend Merri Joy owned Scrapbook Avenue, but closed to move to Santa Cruz. She has a wonderful blog herself, and is one of the most creative people I know. You might want to check out her blog at Budget Cropper.

Here is the left side of a double page layout of my beautiful daughter. I did add some stickles to the big flower to match the little flowers. I LOVE stickles, and use them whenever I can.

This is the right hand side of the "Bride" double page layout. My daughter was so beautiful here, that I really wanted to keep the page simple not to distract from the picture.
I will try to post some more up to date layouts very soon.

Scrapbook Crop Chapter 3

As promised, I am back for the 3rd installment of last Saturday's crop at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique.
Even among all that beautiful paper my friend Rita and I found time to get a page done. Usually we get a bit more completed, but between chatting, and looking at all the goodies in the store...well maybe next time.

Anyway, Rita is working on her wedding album. It was so much fun looking at the old pictures from the 70's. The hair, the clothes...and Rita and Milton looked so cute! We had a lot of fun just looking at the pictures. We decided to do the front and back page of her album. Here is our finished product. Next time we will work on all the pages that go in the middle.

If you are interested in attending the next crop, I believe it is in two weeks. I will keep you updated, as soon as their new calendar comes out.

More Crop News

Hi!

I wanted to chat a bit more about the great crop I attended last Saturday night at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique, located here in Chico, at 555 Flying V. The owner Karen, is so nice, and has been in business for five years now. She is up on all the latest in the scrapbook world, so don't be shy, stop by the store! That happy picture is Karen....still smiling at 11:00 pm. after a long day at the scrapbook store.
The next thing I want to talk about is my choice for second place for pretty paper at the store. It is the new line by Melissa Frances, called 5th Avenue. It is sooooooo cute. Very soft and feminine, in her usual vintage style. I got to meet Melissa Frances, much to my surprise, almost 2 years ago at Scrapbook Expo in Sacramento. I had signed up for a techniques class, which was supposed to use Melissa Frances products. You can imagine how excited I was, when it turned out she herself was teaching the class! She was very inspirational, having fought breast cancer, and she is a huge promoter of getting your mammograms. Here is a picture of the Melissa Frances product display. You WILL want some of this paper!

Well, I think I am going to get some sleep, but come back tomorrow for the 3rd and final chapter of the Scrapbook Crop!

Scrapbook Crop

Hi there!
It has been a couple of days since I have written any scrapbooking news, and I DO have a lot to talk about! I will talk about the most important thing first, and then probably talk about the other stuff over the next couple of days.

I had an awesome time last Saturday, at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique....formally located in Paradise, now located at 555 Flying , Suite 5, here in Chico. They had their first crop in the new location, and it was really nice. Twenty-seven ladies were signed up, and ready to crop! Karen, the owner of the store was a gracious hostess, and made everyone feel welcome and very comfortable. The crop was from 4 to 11, and I can tell you the time just flew by.
There are so many beautiful and fun new papers....it was hard to decide which ones are my favorites, but here are the ones I loved the most. (for now of course) :o)

My choice for first place goes to Graphic 45, The Magic of Oz Collection. The papers are "oh my gosh" so wonderful! Any of you who might be a Wicked fan, these papers would be great to do any layouts with these papers.
I have more to tell about this wonderful crop, but I think I will go for tonight. See you tomorrow!

Organization

Today I am going to chat about the organization of our scrapbook supplies. If you like to collect "Stuff", as I do, this is absolutely necessary, so that you can not only collect "Stuff", but also use the "Stuff" that you collect.
I will show examples from time to time, and share pictures of how I have some of my "Stuff" organized.
I share a space with my honey, Vince. He builds custom guitars, and we enjoy hanging out in our room together. He is a very supportive Scrapbook husband, and encourages all of my scrapbooking endeavors.
I have organized my scrapbook area many times, and I will probably continue to do so, based on my supply use, and what is convenient. An example I will use tonight are my acrylic paints. Paints are a fun medium to use in scrapbooking or card making. They work especially well with foam stamps. I love to use them, and have a great many colors. Here is a picture of how I originally stored them.

Ahhh, when life was simpler. I now have many more colors, and had to resort to storing them all together in another location. Here is how I store my paints now.

These three containers hold all of my paints.
If you have acrylic paints, I would love to hear how you store them.

Hello again!
Well, we have a local scrapbook store that just opened down the street from me. (How lucky is that?) It is very cute, and they are having their first crop this Saturday. I will be there, along with my friend in scrapbook crime, Rita. Rita wanted me to send her a list of what to pack for a crop, so I made one. People ask me that all the time, so I am posting the list I sent to Rita. I would like to remind everyone that I usually way over pack. But more importantly, if you under pack, you can buy what you need at the crop. That usually covers two bases: A.) It is ALWAYS fun to get the latest and greatest from the scrapbook store, and B.) You ALWAYS, ALWAYS want to support your local Scrapbook Store. I will try to take some pictures of the new store, and post it this weekend.
Here is my list:

What to Pack for the Crop
1. Trimmer
2. Adhesives any and all types you might use.
3. Paper
4. Pictures
5. Any punches you might want to take. Keep in mind the store does have lots of punches, and things to cut stuff out.
6. Idea book if that helps with layouts.
7. Any stamps you might think you would use.
8. Corner Rounder
9. Any rub- ons or quotes you might use.
10. Inks
11. Scissors
12. Buttons, brads, eyelets, embellishments, or ribbon you might use. Keep in mind she has lots of ribbon, and if you don't want to over pack we can buy what supplies we want there.
13. Pencil...pens, markers or colored pencils....IF you think you are going to use them. Remember we are not there forever....I always over pack and I will try not to this time. Although, I can't promise.
14. Something to poke holes with,, in case you want to use brads or eyelets.
15. Mini Stapler.
