Good Evening Friends and Family!!
Here I am participating in another sketch challenge, this time from the My Mind's Eye Blog.
I have been a HUGE My Mind's Eye fan from way back...from the very beginning. In fact, I decided to use a collection from back in 2006. They were as cute then, as they are now.
Here is the layout. I used pictures of my sweet husband and myself for this one. I love him as much today, as I did when we first fell in love!
Let me know what you think.
Have a happy week ahead.
Hugs to all,
Rhonda

Paper Bakery Sketch Challenge
Happy Wednesday Friends and Family!!
I am here happily thinking about the wonderful Scrappy weekend I had. I attended an anniversary crop at a local scrapbook store...Paradise Scrapbook Boutique. It really was perfection, everything you would want in a great crop. Stunning decorations, GREAT food, awesome prizes, good company....and did I fail to mention CUPCAKES???? What more could a girl want, really???
I have some pictures of the scrappy goodness, but I will save those for my next post. Tonight I want to talk about what I accomplished at the crop. I actually finished two challenges and a card. Tonight I would like to share a layout for a sketch challenge from Paper Bakery.
Here is the sketch for the challenge. You just have to do your take on it...you can turn it around or do what you like. Paper Bakery is a company that specializes in a Kit club. Everyone I have come in contact with at Paper Bakery is very nice, and a lot of fun. Their customer service is hard to beat, You feel like you are chatting with friends there at Paper Bakery.
But back to the sketch. I used my latest Paper Bakery Kit and completed my first challenge with them.
Let me know what you think. This is the Merry-Go-Round at the fair. My husband and I went on a wonderful date at the fair in May. I have a lot of great pictures of that night, and thought this paper was just right for that. This layout was quite a challenge for me. But in the end, I was very happy with how it turned out.
I will post more tomorrow.
Sweet dreams.

Hello Friends and Family!
I would like to correct myself from last night's blog....regarding the name of the new Tim Holtz class, It is called Creative Chemistry 102, not 2. You also do need to take Creative Chemistry 101 to be able to sign up for Creative Chemistry 102. I promise you, you will not be disappointed. Fabulous does not even come close to describing it.
I decided to make some more tags. They are really fun to create.
This first tag got it's inspiration from Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2013. I encourage you to look into that also. That is completely free...and Tim has wonderful step by step tutorials.
This is a guy tag. :o)
I actually like this one, and think it is kind of cool.
Next is my girl tag. This tag has a little of everyone scrappy on it. It is a Ranger Tag, embossed with a new Cricut 3 D embossing folder, I used Tim Holtz distress inks on it, and sprayed it with Heidi Swapp gold color shine. I topped it off with Melissa Frances ribbon, pearls, flower, and ephemera. It turned out pretty cute.
Well that is it for tonight. Have a restful sleep and I will have something new for you tomorrow.
Hugs,
Rhonda

Hello Friends and Family!
Tonight I thought I would share a new class I am taking. It is Creative Chemistry 2, taught by Tim Holtz.
I can truly tell you, I have never learned more about inks and paints, than with Tim Holtz. He is a great instructor, and makes it easy for everyone to learn.
So bear with me on some of these blogs....I am a student!! :o)
Class one we learned a Distress Paint technique, and yes, I need a lot of practice. But here is my first try, and I made it into a tag. I marbled the tag first, and then I embossed and distressed it.
I will have more things to share with you in the coming days. :o)
Thanks for looking!
Hugs to everyone.

Hello Friends and Family!!
Hope you all had a happy Monday. :o)
Well I got my card challenge in right under the wire...with 2 minutes to spare!! He he!! I was very happy to have made the deadline.
I said I would come back and tell you what has been going on with me. I have been doing a little creating here and there...not as much as I would like, but a little. I have been doing a little organization...not as much as I would like, but a little. I have done a little thinking...not as much as I probably should, but enough for now to get started. :o)
My thinking is I would like to attempt a dream I have. I have a dream of being on a design team some day. To do that, I need to create on a very regular basis and get it posted on my blog. I need to do this for a minimum of 6 months, so I look like I am serious about my dream, before I apply to be on a design team. To achieve my dream, I need to seriously commit to my dream, and believe that I can do it. I would tell you, I am going to try...I will try my best and see what happens, which is what I always say.
But as Yoda says, "Try not. Do or do not, there is no try."
So I have decided to DO!!! I am going to make this happen. :o)
I have been wondering if I should make a new blog for this venture, or if I should keep my old blog. Scrapbook Mama is not a very sophisticated name...and there are several Scrapbook Mama's out there. What do you think, what is your opinion on this?
Tonight I am going to show you one of my new ideas I have used in organization in my scrapbook room. I am using a cupcake tier to put my glitter and sprays on. I think it is really cute. There are many styles and colors of cupcake tiers out there to choose from. Hopefully you can find one that will work for you too.
Isn't this cute? I removed some of the sprays so that you could see how cute it really is. As you can see, there is plenty of room on it to get lots of sprays and glitter up and out of the way.
It is getting late, so I am going to close up for tonight. Next blog, I will share some of my newest creations.
Sweet dreams.
Hugs to everyone.

New Class
Hello Friends and Family!
Today I am going to talk about another instructor I have found to take online classes from. Her name is Heidi Sonboul. You can find her here. http://www.heidisonboul.com
I had seen her work here and there, and had thought she was good, but it was not until the release of her new Signature Series Book, "Heidi Sonboul" that I became REALLY excited. I poured over every page...I have it in print and digital, and thought to myself, "She really gets it!" Her style is similar to mine, (but better of course). I love every page of that book, and she covered everything that I could ever want covered in a book.
Right after that I found out that she was going to offer classes. Hooray! Her classes cost a meager $2.00 each, or 4 for $8.00. These are so much fun and worth every penny. I love her blog and her work. I feel like she is not only an instructor, but a friend, as she shares her life and family on her blog also.
Her first class was called Layers and Layers. She taught us how to do layering in our layouts. I love layering, but she took it to a whole new level!
Here is a picture of my layout. I chose to do some more pictures of my sister Karen. She was fun and funny, and I miss her.
Look at all the layers in this layout...wow!
Heidi also taught us how to make our own flowers. I have one on this layout.
Here is a look at my journaling....I know it is hard to believe....on my layout.
I cannot encourage you enough to check Heidi out. You won't be disappointed, and you will have fun at the same time.
Hugs to everyone until next time.
Love Rhonda

Happy Summer!!
Summer is a great time for scrapping. It's so hot outside, and I can stay inside where it is nice and cool, and get caught up on my favorite passion, SCRAPBOOKING!!! :o)
For all of you that love this hobby also, I would like to remind you that there is no lack of inspiration online. There are so many classes, some free, some with a modest fee, where you can learn new techniques, and see the latest of what is going on with paper crafting. It is a great way to use up your stash, and if you are like me, you have plenty to use.
I am going to take the next several blogs to share some of the places online that I am frequenting for new ideas and plain old fun. So stay tuned!
The first place I am going to share with you is Camp Scrap, taught by May Flaum over at Big Picture Classes. I have been a big fan of May's for the past couple of years. She is so awesome, and her classes are excellent. She has over 40 projects to make at Camp Scrap for 4 weeks of classes. At a price of $29.00, this is a great value, and once you purchase this, you can have it forever. Big Picture Classes has so many awesome classes. I promise you there is something for everyone there.
I completed project one, which was about telling a "must tell story". I know we all have stories, or things we want to share, but if you are like me, getting your journaling done on a project is sometimes non-existent. We get caught up in the creative process and forget to put down our feelings or information pertaining to our pictures. I can tell you from experience, your family members will treasure the time you spend writing down the smallest of details, to hear your voice through your written words, long after you have gone. If this seems hard to you, May Flaum says to "pretend like a good friend is sitting next to you and say it out loud". That makes it much easier to put down on paper. I gave it a try, and it really worked!! Here is my creation from this weekend.
I scrapbooked and journaled a picture of my sister Karen. This was a picture of us together on her last visit here. I wrote about what that visit meant to me. It really was much easier to do than I had ever thought. I used some Heidi Swapp Color Shine on this project also, which was another new technique to try.
It was fun to use a doily too.
Can't wait to start the next project!
I will be blogging more classes for you to check on in my upcoming blogs.
Try to stay cool until next time!!!
Hugs
Rhonda

Card Attack!!!
Hello Friends and Family!!
I am sharing some cards tonight. I don't know what came over me, but I completed 10 cards over the weekend. I worked on them on Saturday and Sunday night. I really had fun, and if I would have had more time, I would have made even more. :o)
1. This was the first card of the night. I used one of the tags I made a couple of weeks ago. I thought it would look good on a card, and I was right! I attached the tag to an old Bo Bunny card kit body. Inked and distressed it up, added some pearls that I sprayed with Tattered Angels, and there it is. :o)
2. I used scraps from my tags I made last week on this Valentine card. These scraps are from the Authentique "Lovely" valentine line. I also used a left over flower that I sprayed with Tattered Angels and Heidi Swapp Color Shine. I distressed and inked the edges, and finished it off with a bit of Stickles.
3. I used some Melissa Frances paper on this card. I distressed and inked the edges in pink, (my favorite color,) inked up a doily, and added a prima rose. The little tiny frame is a Melissa Frances frame that I inked pink, and added a little Melissa Frances Pink Bling. I added some lace and some ribbon to finish it up.
4. This card was also made with Melissa Frances paper. I lightly distressed the edges and the border, and attached a piece of lace to the side of the card. Then I adhered a Melissa Frances tag that I had put some Melissa Frances bling on to the card. To finish it off, I attached one of the newest Prima flowers to the card. LOVE these flowers!
5. I decided to get away from the Vintage look for a few minutes and made a card entirely of SEI supplies. I used the SEI line "Think of Me". I think it is a fun and cute line. In the past, this would have been the kind of card I would usually make, so I really enjoyed creating this.
6. Here is another card made with the SEI supplies.
7. This is a Valentine's card I made using the Authentique "Lovely" line again. I really love this line. I lightly distressed and inked the card and the Authentique embellishments. I then added a couple of pieces of ribbon, and was done.
8. I used Authentiqe "Lovely" on this little one too. With the cute vintage cut out valentines they have, the cards practically make themselves.
9. This card is made from nearly all scraps. Not only that, but very old scraps. These are old SEI scraps. I distressed and inked the edges of the card, and the borders. Then I added the old SEI tag, the ribbon, and another one of the new Prima flowers. I also used a rub-on on the tag. I LOVE rub-ons! A simple card that everyone seems to like.
10. The last card is a mish-mash of different lines. There is October Afternoon Christmas paper, along with an Authentique Valentine. I used some over sized red rick-rack and a red bow to finish. A cute valentine to send away.
Making these cards, really made me happy this weekend.
Leave me a comment if you have any questions. Have a Happy Week!!!!

Happy February!!!
I am posting to catch up from the end of January, and to begin the month of Love!!
The happiest news for me is that I finished my tag challenge in plenty of time and have sent off my tags. I will wait anxiously to receive my envelope sometime next week to see the tags from all the other crafters. I really had fun creating this tag. I learned a lot of new techniques and got outside of my usual scrappy box, I can't wait to see what I learn next!
Here are a few pictures of the process.
As happy as I am to have finished the tags, I would like to finish more next month. So my goal is to get a couple of layouts done, and some cards. :o)
My daughter is back taking classes towards her masters degree, and my son-in-law is also back in school working towards his degree. We have some geniuses in my family!!!!
My son...oh yes he Is traveling again. He is in Cancun celebrating his birthday.
As for my dear sweet husband, he is always busy loving me and taking care of me. That takes a lot of work and patience!
So for now friends, I wish you a very happy February with lots of love, scrapping and fun!! xo

Happy Monday
Happy Monday!!!
I sure had fun last week reading all the blogs and posts from the lucky ones who attended CHA!! Can't wait to try so many new and fun products that are coming out.
My week last week was not as activity packed as the one before, but there were some noteworthy happenings.
I received my cardstock from SEI. I love new paper!!!
I also received my prize from Prima. Wow, was I excited! I received seven packages of flowers and bling! Can hardly wait to use them. :o)
On Friday, we had dinner with our daughter Melodie and son in law Ira, in celebration of their upcoming 8th anniversary. Tomorrow is their special day, but we got together at Outback Steakhouse for a tasty dinner.
I love them soooo much!! They are such a happy couple.
We are pretty happy ourselves.
I am still working on my tags for the tag swap, I am making a little progress, as I have now chosen what paper I am going to use, and my color scheme, etc. I am using the new Authentique Lovely line. It is really nice for Valentines day. I purchased the paper at my local scrapbook store, Chico Scrapbooks. I would encourage everyone to support their local scrapbook store, so we can continue to have them around for years to come. I also finished a tag just for fun, to get used to using the Tattered Angels mist and the Tim Holtz inks.
Finished tag.
Tag in progess.
And last but not least in my blog this week, my son Justin was at the Inauguration today and got some great pictures. I will share a couple of them with you.
Everyone have a happy scrappy week ahead!
P.S. January is over half over....have you created anything this month?????

Happy Sunday to all!!
I know.....you can hardly believe it. I actually am making another post! I am surprised myself, but I had some fun stuff to talk about this week.
My week started off great. I won a prize! Not only did I win a prize, but I won it from one of my favorite companies, PRIMA!!!
Prima started out making Pretty flowers, but now they have expanded and have almost anything you would need to do all of your mixed media projects!! SUPER AWESOME!
I am a member of Club SEI. I love SEI products. I have been a fan of theirs from their beginnings. My club kit came on Tuesday, which of course is always exciting to see what new goodies and ideas they are sending me. Much to my surprise, inside my kit was a free adhesive to try and a gift certificate for $20.00! They had sent me a gift card for being a member for 3 years. So I ordered some cardstock for future use. A girl can never had too much paper!! :o)
Wednesday my friend Michelle came to work and took me to lunch at Chipotle. Yum, yum!! Michelle and I used to work together at Esplanade Women's Care, where we became fast friends. We share a love of papercrafting and always have fun when we get together.
Thursday I got an email from Scrappy Happiness, telling me the group that I was going to be swapping tags with. This is very exciting for me, as I have never participated in anything like this before. Scrappy Happiness is a blog by Drew Scott. He is a talented young man who teaches and designs for Prima. You can look for his classes on Live with Prima if you are ready to be inspired.
Friday my husband and I had the most tasty dinner at our daughter Melodie and son in law Ira's house. We look forward to any excuse to be able to see them, but some of Ira's great cooking is the best excuse of all!! He cooked us some delicious steaks, and we had a super great time visiting there.
Also on Friday our son Justin went on another one of his adventures. This time to see Mt. Rushmore. It was very cold, but he got some great pictures, and some more stories to share.
Yesterday I did some experimenting with various techniques that I may be using on my tag swap. I had a lot of fun, and will keep playing around with it until I get the look I am searching for. Here is a picture of what I did so far.
I still am watching my videos every day with Creative Jumpstart. There have been some fun techniques I will definitely try in the future.
Some of my friends are at CHA in Anaheim right now, seeing all of the latest and greatest in papercrafting. I have been following along on every blog that I can get info on. Lots of fun going on there.
All in all, I think this was a great week. I had lots of love and fun all week long.
So hugs to all of you, and I hope you have a great week ahead. xoxoxox
