In Memory of Rita

Hello Friends and Family!!

This blog is in honor of my best friend and scrapbook sister, Rita Kienholz.  She passed away in her sleep on Thursday.  She was only 57.
We spoke last Tuesday, and we had one of our usual good talks.  We spoke about getting together soon to scrapbook, and how much we missed and loved each other.  She was going to come by my work...she had a "birthday/christmas" present she wanted to drop off.  She ALWAYS had presents for me, and ALWAYS pretended it was either for my birthday or Christmas.  She was the most loving, giving, and encouraging friend a person could ever have.  It was nearly impossible for me to give her a present, (scrapbook present), as she had it all.  If there was a new ink, she had to have every color.  She loved to collect scrapbook supplies.  When Julie Nutting came out with this Rita Stamp, I bought it as quickly as I could, so that I could give her something she did not have and surprise her. I bought her the stamp, and made her the paper doll.  As always with anything I did, she thought it was spectacular, and thanked me more than once.
We met 12 years ago, when I was a manager at our local scrapbook store, Scrapbook Avenue.  We became friends right away.  When the store closed 2 years later, we were still friends. I always said she was my best find at the scrapbook store.  :o)

We went to crops, cropped (usually mostly talked) at her house, and were just genuinely happy to spend time together.  She LOVED to be a VIP.  (she really deserved to be)
She was the best of friends to have.  I will miss her every day.  If you have a friend or loved one that means the world to you, give them a call, make a date to get together. Make and treasure as many memories as you can.

It's been a long day without you, my friend / And I'll tell you all about it when I see you again / We've come a long way from where we began / Oh, I'll tell you all about it when I see you again…

Love you Rita, Rita

Design Team Submission

Happy Sunday friends and family!!

Today I finished my layout...  the final thing I needed  to submit my application for Julie Nutting's design team.  I have never wanted to be on a design team more that this one.  You all know how much I love paper dolls.

Here is my layout.

I also used Julie Nutting's new paper.  I LOVE it!!!

All submissions must be in by April 25th, so I still have a couple of weeks to wait.  If I do not make it, I know that the people who get a spot love paper dolls as much as I do, and will no doubt be extremely talented.

I just had to try though.
Have a happy week ahead!!
Hugs,
Rhonda

Making Babies!!

I have had a fun week making Julie Nutting babies for a friend of mine.  Her daughter is expecting a baby boy....so it was time for some paper doll magic.

There is a perfect paper doll for every occasion.  I love them all!

Happy Sunday.

Hello Friends and Family!

It has been such a long time since I have been on my blog.  That is about to change right now!  I am excited, and pumped and I am going to get my party started.  :o)

Thursday I saw a post on Facebook that has got me fired up and ready to work hard.

For those of you who know me well, you know this post would make me do a happy dance.  I love paper dolls, and have loved them since I was a small girl.  I discovered Julie Nutting paper doll stamps about 2 years ago, and have been making them ever since.
During my hiatus from my blog, the paper dolls have been my go to fun craft.  I have made MANY of them.  I have mentioned on more than one occasion, that if Julie Nutting ever had a design team call, I was going to try, and do my best.
So with that being said, for the next few weeks I am going to bombard my blog with everything paper doll.  I have never wanted to be on a design team more in my life than on this one.  It will be like wining the lottery to get on this team.  There are so many super talented paper doll makers out there.  But you never know.  I have the heart for paper dolls, and don't want it to be a forgotten art from days gone by.  I want girls to still have the fun of cutting them out, and designing their clothes, just like I did when I was young.
Please, if you are not a member of my blog, I ask you to please become one.  It would mean a lot to me to have your support, and also look better to have more people following.  I need a little fan club right now.
Thank you all for reading this and listening to me over the years.

Wish me luck...I will let you know how I do.

Hugs,
Rhonda
